For a long mix, visible progress can be more useful than making every second visually loud.

Use the timeline when structure matters

A full-track waveform can expose quiet openings, dense passages and the remaining duration. That makes it a practical visual for a mix whose arc matters to the listener.

The trade-off is horizontal density: the longer the file, the more audio must be summarized across the available width.

Use a live view when motion matters

Spectrum and oscilloscope styles focus on the current moment. They create more continuous local motion, but they do not tell the viewer how far through the overall mix they are.

A time display or separate progress treatment can provide that context when the visualizer itself does not.

Know when the tool is not the fit

BeatVisualiser is not currently the right exporter for a one-hour DJ set because long-form projects are capped at 10 minutes. A conventional editor or another long-form render workflow is the honest choice for that brief.
